Description: The Elk Grove -- Charlie Fowble Memorial walk is a delight both day and
night. There is a 5K (3.1 miles) and a 10K (6.2 miles) route to choose from and both are rated
1A. The routes take you by the Elk Grove Town Hall and along pathways by many manmade lakes.
There are fountains, playgrounds, schools and parks that people will walk by as well as lovely
homes.
After the walk, a fan-favorite place for lunch or dinner is Tea Garden. A
wonderful way to meet and greet those who you walked with. The walks are non-competitive and
stopping along the way for a restroom break, picture taking or playground for the kids is just
fine with us. Everyone is welcome to join in our walks, including the family dog who should be
on leash with cleanup.

Description: Celebrate National Walking Week at beautiful Spring Mill State Park.
Participants can do either a 5 or a 10K guided walk Carry water. This shaded trail includes
uneven paths, stairs, and inclines. It passes through a virgin forest, a restored pioneer
village and a grist mill. The trail goes by a stream, sinkholes, caves and around a lake.
Accommodations and a restaurant are available at the lovely inn where you register. This
event also supports the park's Trail Challenge program's goal to walk all the park trails.
You will start the walk promptly at 10:00 AM. Please arrive at the site at least 15 minutes before the
start time to register.

All-Purpose paved path. There will also be a stop for ice cream at Mrs, Curl's, a
landmark in Greenwood and southside Indy.

Description: This event is intended to be a family friendly guided walk
along groomed existent trails in the Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park.
Participants may choose to walk a distance of 5-kilometers or 10-kilometers. All
distances will pass several historic sites within the park. The Start/Finish Point
is in the vicinity of the Hargue Mill. As participants complete registration, groups
of 10 to 15 persons willl be formed based upon the distance to be walked. All
participants will be assessed a fee of $3 and provided with a water bottle.

Description: The Two Town Walking Club invites anyone who wishes to join us in
celebrating National Walking Week in Historic Ipswich, MA. We will meet at the Ipswich YMCA,
110 County Rd., Ipswich, MA, and have the opportunity participate in a guided walk of either 5
kilometers, (3.1 miles), or 10 kilometers, (6.2 miles). It will give all participants the
opportunity to walk in the outside air with like-minded people. Ipswich has the most first
period houses (40) of any town or city in the United States. Walkers will pass many of these
homes, the site of the home of Anne Bradstreet, the first published woman poet in the American
colonies, and views of the Ipswich River. On the EBSCO Building there is an interesting mural
on the History of Ipswich. Come join us to meet others interested in walking as an organized
activity. Perhaps you wi9ll make new friends and learn about the participating clubs and walks
sponsored by America's Walking Club and its associated member clubs. Those who wish to learn
more may meet for lunch at a nearby restaurant after the walk. Bring good walking shoes. We
will hope that the weather will be cooperative.

Description: The April 4, 2020, group walk of the Lexington Battle Road
walk starts at the Minuteman National Historical Park in Lexington, MA at 10:00
A.M. Join us at 9:00 AM or 9:30 AM at the Visitor Center to watch “The Road To
Revolution”, a wonderful 25-minute multimedia presentation that provides an
introduction to the historic events of April 19, 1775. (If attending the 9:30
presentation, please arrive in time to sign in to the walk prior to the
presentation.) We’ll all do the traditional 6 km route (rating 1B) and those
wishing to do a longer walk will do the new Fiske Hill 3 km Extension (rating 2B)
which begins at the Visitor Center Start/Finish. Weather- and temperature-permitting,
you can bring a picnic lunch and blanket or chairs to picnic at the park after
the walk

US Military Academy at West Point - Guided Walk

Description: This is a Guided Group Walk of the club's Flagship Year Round
Event. The West Point YRE (Y0037) is known country-wide for the views of the Hudson
and the experience of walking the nation's foremost (and oldest) military academy,
the United States Military Academy at West Point. Club Treasurer and AVA Northeast
Region Deputy Director Andrew Schmidt will provide the commentary. We plan to do the
10 km walk, but walkers can leave at any time.
NOTE! Base passes ("Local Area Credential") are required to be obtained by
everyone on the walk if you do not already have a current version. The form is
located on their site or you can click here for form,
and information about where to have it processed on the base ahead of the walk by clicking
this link.
Please try to do this before registering for the walk across the street at the Highland
Market. (The office is open on the weekend despite the wording on the old webpage.
Be sure to bring a government-issued photo ID (eg: Driver's License).

Description: Registration begins at 9:30. A remembrance ceremony to honor deceased members of LBW members
will begin at 10:00. The Guided Walk will begin at 10:15 immediately following the ceremony. The trail follows natural
paths through heavily wooded areas with some hills and uneven terrain, offering beautiful scenery alongside creeks and
huge trees. There is also a segment on a rails-to-trail with a crushed stone surface.
